About Alisha
Alisha S. James is a transformative leader at the intersection of technology, public safety, and business innovation. With over 20 years of experience spanning law enforcement, government, entrepreneurship, and corporate leadership, she has mastered the art of navigating complex negotiations, capital strategies, and enterprise growth. Her journey reflects a powerful transition—leveraging the discipline of government service to deliver bold, measurable impact in the private sector.
Alisha began her career as a Metropolitan Nashville Police Officer, serving as a patrol officer, undercover detective, training instructor, and background investigator. In 2009, she was selected by the Obama Administration for the White House Presidential Personnel Office, where she recruited and vetted top talent to serve the President of the United States.
She went on to serve the United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office and was later appointed Assistant Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Correction, where she oversaw community supervision for more than 77,000 individuals and managed a budget just under $100 million. In 2018, she was recognized globally as one of IACP’s Top 40 Under 40 in Law Enforcement for her ability to lead with vision, precision, and innovation.
An entrepreneur at heart, Alisha founded Ten-Four Clothing, a fashion line that designed professional suits for women in law enforcement, which she successfully scaled and exited. She later launched James Group Consulting, advising government agencies and corporations on criminal justice transformation, and QwickTouch, a justice-tech startup modernizing probation, parole, and reentry services through digital platforms. These ventures sharpened her expertise in capital raises, scaling small businesses, and structuring growth strategies to take ideas from concept to market.
Today, Alisha serves as Senior Vice President at Aventiv Technologies, where she leads the company’s National Account Management & Sales division. She oversees a portfolio valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars, guiding a nationwide team responsible for customer acquisition, account retention, and strategic growth across state, county, and private-sector partners. With P&L ownership, enterprise-level negotiations, and responsibility for closing high-value deals, she drives the adoption of next-generation corrections technology—from digital education platforms to AI-powered intelligence and reentry solutions—while ensuring long-term partnerships deliver both customer value and sustainable growth.
She is also a graduate of several elite leadership cohorts, including LEAD Tennessee, the Tennessee Government Executive Institute (TGEI), and most recently, Leadership Nashville—programs that strengthened her ability to bridge sectors, inspire teams, and execute at scale.
A sought-after speaker and thought leader, Alisha delivers bold perspectives on justice innovation, digital transformation, leadership, capital growth, and professional resiliency. She has spoken at conferences across the U.S. and internationally—including Canada, Argentina, and Australia—challenging audiences to rethink systems, embrace agility, and harness technology as a force for impact and growth.
